Catechism Grade 5

We will be using the Blue Catechism Book
Each lesson normally consists of the following assignments...

Discussion of materials - going through answers and questions in the Catechism
Assignment: Journal Writing for the lesson / possible worksheet
Memory work

Journal info: I want to offer the students a chance to practice reflective writing and have the chance to form good writing habits. The students should strive to do the following with their journals.
Part 1: "What I Want to Remember" - students can either copy down from the "what I've learned" part of the sheet or re-word it.
Part 2: Students need to strive to write a five sentence paragraph. The first sentence is their topic sentence (students should use the wording in the question to form their topic sentence.) Sentences 2-4 are three support sentences, giving details or more information about their topic sentence. Sentence 5 is to be a summary or rephrase of the topic sentence.

Assignments:

ACTS prayer

Through the remaining classes, we will cover each of the petitions and doxology of the Lord's Prayer. Memorize each petition and doxology. Write a prayer on each one following ACTS model.
